Family time

I am kind of obsessed with having family close by.
I would be even more obsessed if it were all of my family...but I will dream of that another day.

It was the one thing I was missing in Idaho (besides a good meal :))
and I think it has been my favorite part about our transition to Utah.
Family!

I love that it was a Friday night, we had nothing going on (shocker) and we can call each other up and meet at a restaurant for dinner and play time after.

I love that my kids cheer for Uncle J and Aunt Maddie.
I love that we get to meet the new members of the family...the birdies!!
I love that when we leave, Kai cries in the car and I can say, "We will see them soon!"
I love hearing Avery say "Jodan"
I love being adult siblings...it makes life so fun!

Little animals kind of freak me out (although Jord did MAKE me hold them) but Logan was much more excited than I was...and NO there is not a pic of me holding them, mainly because I could barely open my eyes.

Maddie's brother Matthew is another one of Kai's favorites and is SO patient with Kai.

Where was Aver when all the fun was happening? Eating treats..and I would expect nothing less from her :)

Kai asked Jordan to play pretend Mario Kart.  This kids imagination is my favorite new skill!

So, thank you McKee family for giving us a great Friday night and reminding us just how awesome family time can be!

Be Mine

My heart was full this Valentines Day.

This year the day was all about my loves, big and small.
And I literally could not have enjoyed it more.
Actually, Kai says it best..
"That was the BEST Valentines Day EVER."

At the end of the day Kai said, "So is Valentines Day really over??"
I told him he is so lucky because he gets to tell me he loves me every day and treat sister and Daddy nice and that he can pretend it's always Valentines day. hahaha let's see if it works :)

Problem solved.

K:  Mommy I really want to go outside today.
Me: Honey we can't because we aren't dressed for the day.

(Runs to his room, comes back dressed and ready.)

K: Ok, I'm dressed now.  I'll be right back.

(Runs to Avery's room, comes back with a shirt, pants, cardigan and shoes.)

K: Here Mom, you let me hold Ellie and you get Avery dressed.

(I hand Ellie Over to Kai and get Avery dressed. Avery WAS SOOOO excited that Kai picked her outfit out..I am not even kidding!)

Me: Thank you Kai. But now Mommy has to get ready.
K: Ok.  Hey Avery, You want to learn my new bicycle on the ground trick?

Result:  We went outside.  We made it point two seconds before Kai decided that snow and freezing wind is not the best way to play outside....so back inside we went.  But on the bright side, we are all dressed :)

Ice cream...

I don't know why, but ice cream is not one of my favorite desserts...
that is, unless you put it on top of a hot cookie or brownie..then I love it.
But Ice cream by itself? Bleh.

But there is something about seeing these faces enjoy it so much that makes me love it so much more.

 Cookies anyone?
